Printed ephemera--items such as broadsides, tickets, and cards that were printed but not intended to be saved--form a large and often neglected source of historical material for researchers. These materials also present special challenges for library and archive staff charged to manage such collections. This two-hour webinar will examine the significance of printed ephemera and provide guidance on strategies for managing, processing, and collecting ephemera in the digital era.

What you will learn

  • An introduction to printed ephemera in its varied formats;
  • Strategies for processing ephemera based on British and American standards; and
  • Techniques for providing access to ephemera on the Web.
