This year there will be training available as a pre-meeting activity on Wednesday, June 4. Two different workshops will be offered concurrently beginning at 9:00 a.m.
CONTENTdm Basic User Instruction, a workshop appropriate for organizations new to CONTENTdm, or for those who wish to preview the software, will include hands-on exercises and cover: creating collections, using the compound document wizard, metadata and controlled vocabulary implementation, and maintaining collections with batch replacement of objects.
This training will be led by OCLC Western staff. The fee for this training is $75.00.
For intermediate to advanced users interested in learning more about working with tab-deliminated files for batch loading, data migration, and creating compound objects, your colleagues Lisa Crane (The Claremont University Consortium) and Joanna Burgess (Reed College) will demonstrate:
- Using tab-deliminated text files to batch load vendor-licensed images or migrate images from legacy systems.
- Building a compound object structure using levels/nodes in tab-deliminated text files to import metadata for both the object wrapper and individual pages.
Time will be allotted for sharing tips, lessons learned and best practices. We want to learn from you as well!
The fee for this training is $35.00.
